A novel, animated re-telling of the story of Christmas. A lazy donkey named Abib is selected by Joseph to carry the pregnant Mary to Bethlehem after the evil King Herod orders everyone back to their birthplaces. Along the way, Abib's friends Jaffar the camel and Orion the horse help Mary and Joseph ward off Herod's soldiers.
