A young boy entrusted with a powerful crayon that brings his drawings to life enters his own drawing. The drawing is of the high seas and the artist stumbles upon a wild adventure that takes him and his dog all over the world where he meets numerous seafarers and eccentric coastal dwellers. This six part narrative is composed of episodes of a 1974 Polish animated series. THE ENCHANTED CRAYON uses only sound effects, no dialogue, and is therefore a terrific tool for introducing children to the pop culture of other nations. Episodes included are Message in the Bottle, The Sinking Boat, Shipwrecked, Prisoners on the Glacier, In an Old Windmill, and Monkey's Silly Tricks.
