Controlled via remote control by Jimmy Sparks, the son of the man who created Gigantor, Jimmy sent the huge fighting machine into battle, defending the Earth against a never-ending assault by hostile aliens and enemy robots. A cartoon that first aired in 2004 on the Cartoon Network, ATOMIC BETTY is illustrated in a retro 1950s style. Most of the time Betty is a hardworking schoolgirl who diligently finishes her schoolwork and is has an admirably sunny approach to life. But when danger beckons, she turns into Atomic Betty, defender of the galaxy! Betty is aided throughout by her cohorts: the enthusiastic pilot of the Hyper-Galactic Starcruiser, Sparky; and Robot X-5, a brainy and worldly-wise `bot. Together they fight-off evil doers such as archenemy Maximus IQ and his sidekick Minimus PU, while also making sure Betty gets back to earth in time to do her homework.
