Samantha (Annasophia Robb) is a fun-loving girl who has her life turned upside down when she takes a trip to New York City. Based on the popular novels, the year is 1904, and finds Samantha pining for a reunion with her former maid, Nellie. The snow-strewn streets provide a pretty backdrop for Samantha's vacation, but she can't help feeling something is missing from her life. Similar to SHREK and THE PRINCESS BRIDE, this fantasy adventure, based on a book by Gail Carson Levine, combines fairy tale with sly, 21st century pop humor. Teenage Ella (THE PRINCESS DIARIES' Anne Hathaway) lives in Frell, a magical place where humans, fairies, ogres, and other mythical folk peacefully coexist.
